Starbucks has made getting great coffee at affordable prices more accessible than ever with their new and improved rewards program that anyone on the Starbucks app can access.
Wondering how do I add my Starbucks receipt to the app to include my offline orders in the reward program.
We had the same question when we first enrolled in this program. It is effortless! Read on to find the easiest method of adding your drinks receipt to your Starbucks app and redeem offers on your next order.
How Do I Add My Starbucks Receipt to the App and Redeem Rewards?
Fortunately, we only need to scan our physical receipt or enter our receipt number – which surprisingly takes about 30 seconds. Here’s how to do it:
Method 1
This is the easiest method and is suitable for those comfortable with digital platforms. All you need to do here is scan your receipt!
- Log on to your Starbucks app.
- Look for the camera icon on the homepage. Once you find it, open the camera scanner.
- Place your receipt in clear light on a flat and clean surface. Make sure your camera is focusing correctly.
- As the app user, you must check if all the text on your receipt is clear; otherwise, the application will not recognize your purchase!
- Now click on Submit. This way, the app will save your purchase data in the Starbucks database and complete your receipt upload process!
Method 2
The second method is safer and ensures you receive rewards at each purchase. If you are still looking for good lighting and the app will not register your receipt, this is the best roundabout way to get your rewards ASAP!
- Login to your Starbucks account. Make sure you have used your Starbucks card for the purchase. This is necessary to access the Starbucks reward program!
- Click on the ‘Add A Receipt’ tab. You will be shown a blank where you have to fill in digits.
- Enter the 16-digit code on your Starbucks receipt.
- You will see that your app has automatically accessed your purchase information and linked it to your account. Now you are good to go!
- Go back to the ‘Starbucks Rewards Program’ tab and review the new rewards you have received.

Why Add Starbucks Receipt on the App?
Virtually, users update their offline purchases on the Starbucks app for two significant reasons: (a) to keep track of all their purchases in one place and (b) to access the benefits of the Starbucks Rewards Program.
Through the Starbucks Rewards Program, you can earn benefits at each purchase, which later help you redeem free drinks and snacks at the store. To make each of your purchases count – to gain ‘stars’ from your offline purchases as well – you must upload the payment proof on your app account.
Everything About the Starbucks Rewards Program
Starbucks started its loyalty program for regular customers back in 2008. Today, instead of getting the 10th drink for free through our Starbucks card, we can opt for ‘stars’ after purchasing each drink, which is counted on our Starbucks app and can be redeemed whenever we feel like doing so.
There are different levels of discounts and benefits. The star rewards are also separate for each class. For example, using a general debit or credit card, you get one star per dollar. If you use this Starbucks card, they give you two stars per dollar on your purchase.
You get a maximum of three stars per dollar using the unique Starbucks Rewards Visa Card. New card members earn 4500 stars. As a part of the rewards program, you also get a free drink on your birthday!
Calculate Your Starbucks Stars Like This
You can redeem these stars for several things: free refills (only with a special Starbucks card), free drinks, notification on all special discounts, additional deals on Star Days, balance protection for your Starbucks card, etc. Additionally,
- Once you collect 25 stars, you can get a complimentary espresso shot with added syrup.
- At 100 stars, you get hot brewed coffee, iced brewed tea, baked goods or packed snacks, or hot steeped tea.
- At 200 stars, you can order a customized beverage, including a frappuccino. Or you can choose a hot breakfast item instead.
- With 300 stars, you get a packed salad or lunch sandwich, a protein box, or any coffee item you choose.
- At 400 stars, you get a merchandise item of up to 20 USD.
Eligibility Criteria – Who Can Get Starbucks Rewards
Very few eligibility criteria exist for your Starbucks rewards; anyone can redeem them simply by purchasing them.
Here is how the rules go:
- International citizens from any country where Starbucks operates can access the rewards program. Plus, you can also access the program when you are traveling abroad!
- You must make a Starbucks purchase within the last 6 months because Starbucks stars expire within that period.
- Cafes inside supermart stores like Target don’t accept the Starbucks app.
- You must enroll for the Starbucks Rewards Program via the Starbucks.com website by providing your name and email address.
- For Starbucks birthday rewards, you must make the card at least seven days before your birthday and make one purchase.
