25 Casually Modest Summer Outfits to Copy

Modest summer outfits are kinda tricky.

Like… you want to stay cool, but you also don’t want to feel like you’re baring it all at a pool party when you’re just trying to go grocery shopping.

So these are just a few modest summer outfit ideas that are cute, easy, and not too fussy.

You’ll still feel like yourself, and not like you’re wearing something that belongs to your great-aunt (unless she has great taste… then maybe yes).😄

I’ll probably keep adding more over time, but for now, here are some of my current favorite ideas.👇

1. Flutter Sleeve Top + Belted Midi Skirt + White Sneakers

You can never go wrong with a cute top and a skirt, and this combo is a solid reminder of that.

The flutter sleeves add some texture, the midi skirt keeps things covered, and the belt ties it all together. And pairing it with white sneakers? Just perfect!

It’s great for:

  • Coffee dates
  • Casual days
  • Farmers markets

2. Puff-Sleeve Dress with Waist Tie

This outfit gives me tea party energy in the best way.

The shape is super flattering, the tie waist helps you feel put together, and the fabric is light enough for hot weather. The sleeves add a little structure too, so you’re not feeling too bare.

I really like this kind of outfit for family events or little weekend things.

Also: you can totally dress this up or down depending on your shoes.

3. Smocked Lavender Tiered Dress

This one’s got puff sleeves (always a favorite), a smocked top for a little structure, and the layered skirt adds dimension.

The color makes it feel feminine without being overly bright.

And the best part? You don’t need to think too hard about styling it. Just put it on and go.

4. Black Long-Sleeve Top + Neutral Pencil Skirt

This one’s a bit more dressy, but it still totally works for casual days if you throw on flats.

A fitted long-sleeve with a sleek neutral skirt is such a clean combo. It feels sophisticated, but not stiff.

You could wear this to church, to dinner, or even just out running errands if you feel like dressing up a little.

👉Side Note: I love black and tan together. It always looks expensive.

5. Off-the-Shoulder Maxi Dress

Okay, so this one shows a little shoulder, but it’s so balanced and full-coverage everywhere else that it still feels modest enough for most days.

You’ve got this really fun, colorful print, and the maxi length keeps everything grounded. Add a statement belt and you instantly look like you planned the whole thing (even if you didn’t).

📌Pro Tip: If you want a little more coverage, a cropped denim jacket or even a light shawl would go great with it.

6. Green Embroidered Fit-and-Flare Dress

This one’s fancy but still wearable.

It’s got that vintage feel with the embroidery, but it still works for a casual summer lunch if you keep the accessories simple.

It gives just enough structure up top while keeping things light and easy everywhere else.

Also: twirls really well.

7. Printed Midi Skirt + Fitted Black Top

This one’s kind of an attention-grabber in a chill way.

You’ve got a bold skirt with a more fitted, solid top – so you don’t feel overwhelmed by pattern but still get to have some fun.

It’s perfect for when you want to wear something a little different, but don’t want to overthink it.

Plus, the high-waist skirt gives a nice shape to your outfit without being tight or clingy.

8. Long-Sleeve Lilac Dress with a Flowy Skirt

This is one of those outfits that feels fancy without trying.

The fabric moves nicely, the sleeves are super flattering, and the whole thing just feels really pulled together. Like if you wore this out shopping, someone would probably think you’re headed to a lunch date or something.

But jokes on them… you just like wearing nice things 🙂

📌Style tip: Keep your shoes soft and simple, flats or mules work best.

9. Striped Pullover + Cropped Jeans + Sneakers

It’s just one of those outfits that works no matter what you’re doing.

The striped pullover gives a little coastal vibe, the cropped jeans make it easy to move around in, and the floral sneakers add some fun without being too loud.

👉Side note: Add a messy bun and a tote and you’ll look like you just got back from the cutest weekend market.

10. Cream Knit Set with Sandals and a Crossbody Bag

This one is so easy and comfortable. I love outfits like this for travel days or anytime you’re on your feet a lot.

A matching knit set just feels good. You don’t have to think too hard about mixing pieces, and the texture adds a little something different.

The cream color is really breathable for summer and just makes you look put together.

11. Blush Midi Dress with Simple Flats

If you’re the kind of person who likes to look nice but doesn’t want to think too hard about your outfit, this is it.

It’s soft, minimal, and takes no effort to put together. Plus, the color is super summery without being loud.

Pair it with a neutral flat or sandal and you’re ready to go.

12. Light Blue Denim Dress

Denim dresses are really underrated.

This one’s got that fitted bodice look with a flowy skirt that gives you some shape without clinging. The color’s soft, the style’s easy, and the whole thing just works.

I’d wear this on repeat honestly.

If it gets chilly at night, this would look cute with a cropped white cardigan too.

13. Blue Maxi with Subtle Tiering

Again, if you like throwing on one piece and being done, here’s another option for you.

The tiered dress is breezy, not clingy, and makes you feel comfy + cute. You can pair it with simple flats or sandals, and maybe a crossbody bag if you’re feeling extra.

It’s like the definition of “easy summer modesty.”

14. Floral Tiered Midi Dress (Two Ways)

Outfit A: With sandals and a structured bag = casual and pulled together
Outfit B: With a denim jacket and sneakers = comfy, cool, and totally practical

It’s a simple floral midi dress with soft sleeves and a tiered hem, super easy to wear on its own. But then, you throw on a denim jacket and sneakers and now it’s a whole different look.

So depending on what your day looks like, you’ve got options.

👉Side Note: These kinds of dresses are perfect for travel days or when you need to go from errands to dinner and don’t want to change.

15. Polka Dot Tank Dress with Ruffled Detail

The polka dots are playful, the cut is flattering, and the tiny ruffle at the neckline adds a little something special.

Also, tank-style dresses like this are great for layering. Throw a tee underneath or a cardigan over it if you want more coverage.

16. Rust Wrap Dress with Statement Jewelry

The wrap style gives you shape, the fabric looks luxe, and the color’s bold without being loud.

Try a few accessories and you’ve got an outfit that’s perfect for dinner date night, or anything you want to look slightly fancier for.

📌Style tip: Swap heels for flat mules if you’re not a heels girl.

17. White Puff-Sleeve Dress

All white, puff sleeves, soft layers, basically it looks like summer in outfit form.

It’s flowy without being too oversized, and you can easily dress it up or down.

Would look really pretty for:

  • Slow Saturdays
  • Beach photos
  • Outdoor brunch

This dress is kind of dreamy.

18. Cardigan + Tee + Polka Dot Midi Skirt

This is such a cute combo. Cardigans are great because you can toss them on over anything and suddenly look like you planned your outfit.

The polka dot skirt adds a little fun, and the tee keeps things simple.

This look works great for:

  • Casual workdays
  • Coffee runs
  • Just existing and looking cute 🙂

Also, I love how this outfit gives you coverage without being hot or stuffy. Win-win.

19. Navy Long-Sleeve + White Trousers

You know those days when you just want to look like you have your life together? This outfit does that for you.

A fitted navy top and high-waisted white pants always looks crisp, no matter what.

Throw on some loafers or pointed flats and you’ll feel instantly stylish!

20. Floral Midi Dress with Puff Sleeves

It’s flowy, pastel, and just detailed enough to feel special without doing too much. The sleeves give good coverage, the length is perfect, and the whole thing feels really sweet and dreamy.

This is a great outfit for:

  • Church
  • Summer brunch
  • Baby showers or dressy-casual events

👉Pro tip: You can easily throw on a jean jacket with this if it gets chilly.

21. Cropped Button-Up + Tiered Maxi Skirt

A short-sleeve, button-up shirt paired with a soft, tiered maxi skirt is one of those easy combos that still feels styled.

If you’ve ever wanted to wear something that feels like pajamas but doesn’t look like pajamas, this might be the one.

📌Style tip: Try neutral clogs or chunky sandals to balance out the softness.

22. Green Cottagecore Dress + Sunhat

If your ideal day involves picking wildflowers or reading in a field, this one’s for you.

The green color is soft but unique, and the buttons + belt combo keep it structured while still feeling romantic. Also, sunhats are always a good idea.

Would be great for a garden party… or just looking cute while you water your plants.

23. Black Button-Up + White Midi Skirt

Here you’ve got a basic black top with a crisp white midi skirt – so it’s clean, simple, and really easy to throw together.

Pair it with flats or sandals and you’re done. And yes, oversized sunglasses take it to the next level.

24. Black Mock Neck Top + Wide-Leg Jeans

Clean, minimal, and makes you look like you have things to do – even if you don’t.😄

You’ve got that sleek black top that covers everything nicely, some wide-leg jeans to keep things casual, and cute boots to finish it off.

You can swap out the boots for flats or sandals if it’s too hot, but either way, it just looks really good.

25. Sleeveless Top + Wide-Leg Trousers

This is one of those looks you can wear to a summer dinner or a casual office.

The mock neck on the sleeveless top adds coverage without feeling like too much, and the flowy pants keep you cool and comfy.

👉Note: A little shoulder showing is fine if you’re good with it. If not, just throw on a light cardigan or shawl and you’re set.

Final Thoughts

So if you’re feeling stuck on what to wear this summer without showing everything off, these are some really easy, modest options that still let you feel like yourself.

And honestly, that’s the best kind of outfit.

I’ll probably be adding more as I find other cute modest combos, so feel free to check back or save this for later.

Let me know if you try one of these. I’d love to know which one’s your favorite.🙂
